- Tenant notice: For a periodic contract, the tenant may end the contract by giving the landlord at least four weeks' written notice.
- Ending by the landlord: The landlord may end a periodic contract without giving a reason only by a notice under section 173 of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 (Form RHW16) giving at least six months' notice, which cannot be given in the first six months of occupation, or on a ground set out in the Act, in each case followed by a court order if the tenant does not leave. - Rent increases: The landlord may vary the rent of a periodic contract by giving at least two months' notice in the prescribed form under section 104 of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016, and no more than once in any 12-month period.
